Hand-drawn · Hand-painted
Every piece is an original — drawn or painted by hand.
Portraits of people, pets and wildlife, in oils, watercolours and pen & ink. Commissions welcome — unique original pieces, no prints, no reproductions.
The gallery
From soulful spaniels to scruffy doodles — every painting starts with your favourite photograph and ends with a one-off original that captures their character, not just their likeness.

From the hedgerow
British wildlife is a growing love — hares, and more to come. If you have a favourite creature (or a favourite photograph of one), I'd love to paint it.

This moon-gazing hare has become something of a signature piece — warm golds and ambers against a misty ground, every hair laid in by hand.
Wildlife commissions follow the same simple process as pet portraits: send me your reference (or ask about using one of mine), choose your size and medium, and I'll bring it to life.

The hardest subject, the biggest reward
A face takes the longest to get right — which is exactly why a hand-painted portrait of a person means so much. People portraits are priced individually to reflect the extra hours they take.

A little bit of magic
I am a huge Disney fan and I love a cruise. Anyone who has been will know that one of the great Disney cruise traditions is decorating your stateroom door, and I just love creating pieces for families to display on their stateroom during a cruise — unique, hand-made door art that turns your stateroom door into part of the adventure.
Each piece is created, cut and finished by hand, made to be spotted from the far end of the corridor and a standout talking point for your neighbours and the door-decoration tourers.

Every piece is finished magnet-backed, so it fixes straight to your stateroom door and lifts off at the end of the sailing — no tape, no adhesive, no marks. Disney Cruise Line now asks that decorations stay on the door itself rather than the corridor walls or ceiling, and that no tapes or gel adhesives are used, so everything I make is sized and backed to suit.
Worth knowing: concierge staterooms on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy have wooden doors that magnets won't hold to — tell me your ship and stateroom and I'll sort an alternative fixing.
Sailing soon? Door art is made to order — just tell me your sailing date and what you'd like when you get in touch.
From the studio
Not everything on the easel has whiskers — abstracts, experiments in texture and colour, and hand-sculpted figures happen between commissions.

Commissions welcome
Every commission is a conversation first — I take on a limited number of pieces at a time so each one gets the hours it deserves.
Use the enquiry form below to tell me who or what you'd like painted, and roughly the size you have in mind.
Email over your reference photo(s). I'll take a look and confirm it's paintable — sharp, well-lit photos make the best portraits. If a photographer took the shot, please check you have their permission to have it painted, as the copyright usually stays with them.
We'll settle the size, medium and price together, and I'll confirm a place in the diary and an estimated completion date.
Your original arrives ready to frame or hang. No prints, no reproductions — the only one in the world.
Pet and wildlife portraits follow a simple guide based on canvas size and medium — oils, watercolours or pen & ink.
People portraits are priced individually, as faces take considerably more time.
Full price list coming soon — in the meantime, ask for a quote and I'll come straight back to you.
About the artist
I'm a self-taught artist working from my home studio, and I paint the things people love most — their dogs, their cats, their children, and occasionally a moon-gazing hare.
Everything on this site was drawn or painted by hand, usually with a cup of tea going cold nearby. I work in oils, watercolours and pen & ink, and I take on a small number of commissions at a time so every piece gets the attention it deserves. Photorealistic paintings take a lot more time, so they are priced to reflect the effort that goes into them.
If you'd like something made — a portrait, a pet, or a bit of magic for a stateroom door — I'd love to hear from you.
